TCRC Field Day 2018
Posted on Monday 11 June @ 17:57:48
FD18As you may have heard, the Twin Cities Repeater Club will be doing Field Day again this year! We're super excited about this. I hereby extend an invitation to you to come join us this year for Field Day!

*** WHEN ***
June 23th 1pm to June 24th 1pm
Neill Park in Burnsville, MN
13501 Upton Ave, Burnsville, MN 55337
Set up time: June 23th 9am (roughly)
Tear down time: June 24th 1pm
TCRC exchange: W0BU 3A MN

Talk-in: 147.210 MHz 100Hz tone
Contact: Craig Larsen ( or Martin Erickson (

*** WHAT ***
We'll be running a 3A station this year in order to make sure we have plenty of opportunities for others to get on a radio. This year we will have:
Station 1: CW and Digital station; Morse code, PSK31, etc. Digital modes are easy to pick up.
Station 2: Phone (single-sideband); casual operation, "hunt and pounce"
Station 3: Phone (single-sideband); more intense operation by "running a frequency" (after you feel ready from being on Station 2)
GOTA Station: the "get on the air" station for new hams and non-hams; bring your friends!
VHF Station: working 6-meter, 2-meter, etc. These bands could really open up during the event! Or maybe not. But don't miss out in case they do!

Please sign up for an hour or more on Station 1/2/3 by contacting or We'll get you a slot. You can also sign up at the site, though Craig is actively recruiting operators for Station 3.

*** MANY HANDS ... ***
Many hands make light work. Please consider helping us with set up and tear down this year. This is a great way to learn about many aspects of ham radio. And we could really use the help!

*** FOOD ***
We will have some food there (hot dogs, hamburgers, water) but please consider bringing something to share. We plan to use the grill on site.

Send any questions you have to
Craig Larsen ( or Martin Erickson (

Hope to see you there!
